Introducing our Creative Mentor Lily

Lily_illustrations_FF-300x225 My name is Nur Hasslily Hashim. I originally came from Kuala Lumpur. I grew up in a multi-talented Malay family. It has been my biggest inspiration, the passion I have in art and design industry, particularly in interaction design.

I graduated from University Technology MARA, Malaysia in 2000 and have successfully produced a solo Digital Installation Art exhibition in the same year that sought engagement between human and creative artifacts. I carry this same passion as a visualiser to produce concept and ideas through sketches, 3D and 2D motion FX artist, spatial interior designer and brand identity designer. I had been working for 5 years before leaving Malaysia to achieve my goal to study interaction design in Melbourne Australia. I was awarded with a full graduate scholarship from Malaysia Government to pursue my graduate study in Melbourne, Australia.

I received a Masters degree in Multimedia Design from Swinburne University of Technology in 2006. It has been my passion to study interaction design and take that to another level from the same university. I submitted my final doctoral thesis along with a digital prototype in December 2012, advocating fun and pleasurable experience gained through active engagement in interaction design artifacts. I have spent the past 6 years studying user-centred design, experience design and participatory design research to help museums to improve its visitor evaluation and research methods. My design skill set and specialty includes producing conceptual illustrations, annotating wireframes, building information architectures and processes, creating mock-ups and mobile digital application prototypes. I balance my study with freelance design jobs. I also own an Etsy.com craft store selling my own creations. When I’m not on my computer, I enjoy doing conventional creative activities such as drawing and painting, crafting, creating food design and leisure photography.
